(a) To participate in the Texas Medical Assistance Program, licensed professional counselors (LPCs) must be licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors in accordance with Chapter 503 of the Texas Occupations Code.(b) To participate in the Texas Medical Assistance Program, licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs) must be licensed for the practice of clinical social work by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners in accordance with Chapter 505 of the Texas Occupations Code.(c) To participate in the Texas Medical Assistance Program, licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) must be licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists in accordance with Chapter 502 of the Texas Occupations Code.(d) These providers must:(1) meet the appropriate licensing requirements as required in subsections (a), (b) or (c) of this section;(2) comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing the services provided;(3) be enrolled and approved for participation in the Texas Medical Assistance Program;(4) sign a written provider agreement with the Commission or its designee;(5) comply with the terms of the provider agreement and all requirements of the Texas Medical Assistance Program, including regulations, rules, handbooks, standards, and guidelines published by the Commission or its designee; and(6) bill for services covered by the Texas Medical Assistance Program in the manner and format prescribed by the Commission or its designee.
