ONA may deny assistance if you:(1) have adequate insurance coverage and there is no indication that insurance proceeds will be significantly delayed;(2) have refused assistance from your insurance provider;(3) have applied for flood insurable items such as personal property assistance, but your primary residence is located in a Special Flood Hazard Area (Zones A or V) in a sanctioned community that does not qualify for and enter the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) within six months of the disaster declaration date;(4) did not fulfill the condition to purchase and maintain flood insurance as a requirement of receiving previous federal disaster assistance;(5) request assistance for business losses, including:(A) farm businesses; and(B) self-employment;(6) have applied for personal property or transportation assistance but have not applied to the U.S. Small Business Administration for a loan to meet your serious needs and necessary expenses in these categories, or are denied a loan for reasons other than financial reasons;(7) have failed to provide information requested by the DHS office administering ONA that is required to determine your eligibility for ONA assistance; or(8) do not have disaster-related serious needs and necessary expenses.
