SECTION/RULE §20.405 - Campaign Treasurer Appointment for a General-Purpose Committee

(a) A general-purpose committee may appoint a campaign treasurer at any time before exceeding the thresholds described in §20.401(a) of this title (relating to Thresholds for Appointment of Campaign Treasurer by a General-Purpose Committee).(b) After a general-purpose committee appoints a campaign treasurer, the campaign treasurer must comply with all the requirements of this subchapter, even if the committee has not yet exceeded the aggregate amount of political contributions or political expenditures specified in Tex. Elec. Code §253.031(b), as amended by Figure 1 in 1 TAC §18.31 in political contributions or expenditures.(c) With the exception of the campaign treasurer appointment, the individual named as a committee's campaign treasurer is legally responsible for filing all reports of the general-purpose committee, including a report following the termination of his or her appointment as campaign treasurer.
