SECTION/RULE §61.706 - Computation of Award

(a) If the OAG determines that a disabled peace officer is eligible for an award under this subchapter, the OAG will compute the amount of the annual payment based on the average annual net salary, minus any amount from collateral sources, consistent with the provisions of this subchapter and Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 56.542 and in accordance with any other controlling provisions of state law, including the Texas Constitution.(b) The OAG shall add to the initial payment amount the cumulative successive cost of living adjustment for the intervening years computed from the date of injury.
