SECTION/RULE §93.40 - Olympic Symbols

(a) An application for registration of a mark that uses a symbol, emblem, trademark, trade name, or insignia of the International Olympic Committee or the United States Olympic Committee; or which consists of or includes the words, "Olympic," "Olympiad," or "Citius Altius Fortius," or a combination or simulation of those words must be accompanied by a letter from the United States Olympic Committee consenting to its use as a trademark or service mark and its registration as a trademark or service mark.(b) Written consent from the United States Olympic Committee for the registration of the mark is not determinative of the issue of registrability under the provisions of §16.051 of the Business & Commerce Code.
