Grants provided under this chapter may be used by counties for:(1) Attorney fees for indigent defendants accused of crimes or juvenile offenses;(2) Expenses for licensed investigators, experts, forensic specialists, or mental health experts working for the defense under derivative attorney-client privilege to assist in the criminal defense of indigent defendants;(3) Other direct litigation costs related to the criminal defense of indigent defendants; and(4) Other approved expenses allowed by the Request for Applications necessary for the operation of a funded program.
