SECTION/RULE §131.11 - Definitions

(a) Where applicable, the definitions contained in Texas Occupations Code Chapter 801, Texas Government Code Chapter 2001, and 16 TAC §60.10 are incorporated into this chapter.(b) The following words and terms, when used in this chapter, have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.(1) Board - The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.(2) Commission - The Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation.(3) Department - The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.(4) Executive Director - The head administrative official of the department or board, as specified.(5) License - A license, certificate, registration, title, commission, or permit issued by the department or board.(6) License holder - A person who holds a license issued by the department or board.(7) Party - A person or state agency named or admitted as a party to participate in a contested case.(8) Sanction - An action against a license holder or another person, including the denial, suspension, or revocation of a license, the reprimand of a license holder, the placement of a license holder on probation, or refusal to renew.(9) Veterinary Licensing Act - Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 801.
