(a) Contractors must, by e-mail, fax, or letter, report to the owner and department, within 24 hours of discovery, all equipment they encounter that has a reportable condition.(b) Contractors must report to the department and to the owner, within 72 hours of discovery, all equipment they encounter that does not display a department issued decal number. A report required by this section may be made by e-mail, fax, or letter addressed to the department's chief elevator inspector and to the owner at the owner's most recent address in the contractor's records.
