SECTION/RULE §313.132 - Scratch Time

(a) An association may designate a "scratch time" for each race day.(b) The trainer of a horse that has drawn into or is also eligible for a race who does not wish the horse to start in the race must submit a request to scratch the horse from the race before scratch time.(c) Except as otherwise provided by this subchapter, a horse may not be scratched from a race after scratch time for that race.(d) An association may set a minimum number of horses remaining in the body of a race, other than a stakes race, before a veterinary reason is required to scratch a horse.
