SECTION/RULE §313.301 - Eligibility to Claim

(a) Except as otherwise provided by this section, in a claiming race, each horse is subject to be claimed for its entered price by:(1) a licensed owner or lessee or an authorized agent acting on behalf of the owner or lessee; or(2) a person who has applied for an owner's license and has been granted approval by the stewards to make a claim.(b) A claim may not be made directly or indirectly by an owner for his or her own horse.(c) If the person making a claim is a minor, the claim must be co-signed by a licensed adult parent or guardian of the minor. A parent or guardian who co-signs a claim is liable for the claim. A claim made by a minor that is not co-signed in accordance with this subsection is invalid.
