(a) Except as otherwise provided by this section, a person other than a veterinarian licensed by the commission may not administer a medication to a race animal that is located on an association's grounds.(b) This section does not apply to the administration of:(1) a recognized nutritional supplement or other substance approved by the commission veterinarian; or(2) a noninjectable substance on the direction or by prescription of a licensed veterinarian.
