SECTION/RULE §1.144 - Committee Membership and Officers

(a) The Family Practice Residency Advisory Committee shall consist of 12 members, including:(1) one member who is a licensed physician appointed by the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association;(2) two members who are licensed physicians appointed by the Association of Directors of Family Practice Training Programs;(3) two members who are administrators of hospitals in which an approved family practice residency training program operates and appointed by the Texas Hospital Association;(4) one member who is a licensed physician appointed by the Texas Medical Association;(5) two members who are licensed physicians appointed by the Texas Academy of Family Physicians;(6) three members of the public appointed to the committee by the governor; and(7) the president of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians.(b) Interested persons, such as representatives of health-related institutions, system offices, professional associations, and legislative and governmental relations staff shall be regularly advised of committee meetings.(c) Members of the committee shall select the presiding officer, who will serve a one-year term and will be responsible for conducting meetings and conveying committee recommendations to the Board.(d) Members, excluding the president of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, shall serve for a term of three years and serve until their positions are filled.
