SECTION/RULE §22.163 - Authority and Purpose

(a) Authority. Authority for this subchapter is provided in the Texas Education Code, Subchapter FF, Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program. These rules establish procedures to administer the subchapter as prescribed in the Texas Education Code, §§61.9771 - 61.9776.(b) Purpose. The purpose of the Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program is to encourage students to complete a baccalaureate degree and become members of the Texas Army National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, the Texas State Guard, the United States Coast Guard, or the United States Merchant Marine, or to become commissioned officers in any branch of the armed services of the United States.
