SECTION/RULE §22.205 - Discontinuation of Eligibility or Non-Eligibility

(a) A student may not receive a grant after having already being granted a baccalaureate degree by any institution.(b) A student may not receive a grant while simultaneously receiving a Toward EXcellence, Access, and Success (TEXAS) Grant.(c) Unless granted a hardship postponement in accordance with §22.206 of this subchapter (relating to Hardship Provisions), a student's eligibility for a grant ends:(1) two years from the start of the semester in which the student enrolls in the baccalaureate degree program at the eligible institution on a full-time basis, if the student is enrolled in a degree program of four years or less; or(2) three years from the start of the semester in which the student enrolls in the baccalaureate degree program at the eligible institution on a full-time basis if the student is enrolled in a degree program of more than four years.(d) A student's eligibility for a grant ends once he or she has attempted 135 semester credit hours or the equivalent unless the student is granted a hardship extension in accordance with §22.206 of this subchapter (relating to Hardship Provisions).(e) Other than as described in §22.206 of this subchapter (relating to Hardship Provisions), if a student fails to meet any of the requirements for receiving a continuation grant as outlined in §22.203 of this subchapter (relating to Eligible Students) after completion of any semester, the student may not receive a grant until he or she completes a semester while not receiving a grant and meets all the requirements as outlined in §22.203 of this subchapter (relating to Eligible Students) as of the end of that semester.
