(a) To qualify for a continuation grant after the academic year in which a person receives an initial year grant, each recipient of the TEXAS Grant shall meet the academic progress requirements as indicated by the financial aid office of his or her institution.(b) To receive a subsequent grant after he or she receives a continuation grant, a recipient shall, unless granted a hardship postponement in accordance with §22.231 of this title (relating to Hardship Provisions):(1) complete at least 24 semester credit hours in his or her most recent academic year; and,(2) maintain an overall grade point average of at least 2.5 on a four point scale or its equivalent, for all coursework attempted at public institutions and private institutions.(3) An entering undergraduate student enrolling in a participating public institution for the second or later semester in a given academic year meets the semester-credit-hour requirement outlined in subparagraph (1) of this subsection for continuing in the program if he or she completes at least 12 semester credit hours or its equivalent during that semester.(c) The calculation of a student's GPA is to be completed in accordance with the General Provisions outlined in Subchapter A of this Chapter.(d) The completion rate calculations may be made in keeping with institutional policies.
