(a) The Teach for Texas Conditional Grant becomes a loan and shall be reported to credit reporting agencies when the recipient fails to:(1) remain enrolled at least half-time in an eligible educator certification program;(2) make satisfactory academic progress in the educator certification program;(3) complete the educator certification program within the three-year grant eligibility period;(4) be certified as a teacher within eighteen months after the program completion date;(5) begin the service obligation within eighteen months after the program completion date;(6) maintain continuous full-time teaching and complete the five-year teaching obligation within six years of beginning the service obligation period; or(7) provide a regular, periodic report of enrollment or employment status and location to the Board within a reasonable period of time as determined by the Board.(b) Recipients must sign a promissory note acknowledging the conditional nature of the grant and promising to repay the outstanding principal, interest, and reasonable collection costs, if the grant conditions are not fulfilled.
