SECTION/RULE §23.304 - Amount of Repayment Assistance

(a) The Commissioner shall determine the maximum annual loan repayment assistance amounts offered under this subchapter to nurses working full-time, as defined in §23.301 of this subchapter (relating to Definitions). In any given year, the maximum amounts of assistance are a function of the total amount of available funding, the number of eligible applicants, and the average loan balances of program participants. Maximum amounts shall be established for the following categories of nurses:(1) Licensed Vocational Nurses;(2) Registered Nurses; and(3) Advanced Practice Nurses.(b) In any given year, a participant in the program may not receive assistance greater than one-third of the participant's loan balance as was demonstrated when the participant was first approved for assistance under this subchapter.(c) The amount of loan repayment assistance calculated for an individual participant based on subsections (a) and (b) of this section shall be pro-rated for a nurse working part-time. The pro-ration shall be based on the proportion of hours worked by the nursing faculty member in comparison to the hours worked by a nurse working full-time.
