SECTION/RULE §4.51 - Purpose and Authority

(a) The purpose of this subchapter is to establish the college readiness standards and assessment instruments for students, including implementing the Texas Success Initiative for Texas public institutions of higher education. It is the intent of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board that Texas public institutions of higher education use the flexibility and responsibility granted under these rules to improve individualized programs to ensure the success of students in higher education.(b) Under Texas Education Code, §51.344, the Board is authorized to adopt rules to implement the provisions of Texas Education Code, chapter 51, subchapter F-1, Texas Success Initiative.
