SECTION/RULE §4.215 - Authority and Purpose

(a) Authority. Authority for this subchapter is provided in the Texas Education Code, §51.9705, Notice Regarding Availability of Textbooks through Multiple Retailers. The rules in this subchapter establish procedures to administer this provision of notice.(b) Purpose. The purpose of this subchapter is to establish a procedure by which each institution of higher education shall provide to each student enrolled at the institution written notice regarding the availability of required or recommended textbooks through university-affiliated bookstores and through retailers other than university-affiliated bookstores.
