Authority for this subchapter is provided by Texas Education Code §61.0512(g) which provides the Board with the authority to approve courses for credit and distance education programs, including off-campus and self-supporting programs, and Texas Education Code §130.008 and §28.009, which provide for the offering of dual credit courses by public institutions of higher education.
