SECTION/RULE §228.53 - Coursework and Training for Non-Teacher Candidates

(a) An educator preparation program (EPP) shall provide coursework and/or training to ensure that the educator is effective in the assignment.(b) An EPP shall provide a candidate with a minimum of 200 clock-hours of coursework and/or training that is directly aligned to the educator standards for the applicable certification class in §239.15 of this title (relating to Standards Required for the School Counselor Certificate), §239.55 of this title (relating to Standards Required for the School Librarian Certificate), §239.84 of this title (relating to Requirements for the Issuance of the Standard Educational Diagnostician Certificate), §239.93 of this title (relating to Requirements for the Issuance of the Reading Specialist Certificate), §241.15 of this title (relating to Standards Required for the Principal as Instructional Leader Certificate), or §242.15 of this title (relating to Standards Required for the Superintendent Certificate).
