SECTION/RULE §230.99 - Fees for Certification Services

(a) The fees for certification services shall be based on a study conducted periodically by the State Board for Educator Certification of the actual costs of the services.(b) The fees for authorizing a permit shall be paid by the requesting school district.(c) The certificate of an applicant who does not pay the applicable certification fee, either by failing to remit full payment or by sending a check that is dishonored, shall be placed on inactive status if the applicant does not pay the full certification fee and any related processing fees within 60 calendar days from the date the notice of payment deficiency is sent to the applicant. The inactive status of a certificate will render the certificate holder ineligible for employment in a Texas school district. A certificate placed on inactive status in accordance with the provisions of this subsection will be returned to active status upon receipt of full payment of all applicable fees, unless the term of the certificate has already expired.
