(a) Self-contained is defined as a class in which one teacher teaches all or most subjects to one class of students.(b) An assignment in a self-contained classroom for All General Subjects, Grades 6-8, is allowed with one of the following certificates.(1) Bilingual Generalist: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).(2) Bilingual Generalist: Grades 4-8 (English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies only).(3) Core Subjects: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).(4) Core Subjects with Science of Teaching Reading: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).(5) Core Subjects: Grades 4-8 (English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies only).(6) Core Subjects with Science of Teaching Reading: Grades 4-8 (English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies only).(7) Elementary--General.(8) Elementary--General (Grades 1-6) (Grade 6 only).(9) Elementary--General (Grades 1-8).(10) Elementary Early Childhood Education (Prekindergarten-Grade 6) (Grade 6 only).(11) Elementary Self-Contained (Grades 1-8).(12) English as a Second Language Generalist: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).(13) English as a Second Language Generalist: Grades 4-8 (English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies only).(14) Generalist: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).(15) Generalist: Grades 4-8 (English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies only).(16) Prekindergarten-Grade 6--General (Grade 6 only).
