SECTION/RULE §231.577 - Scientific Research and Design, Grades 9-12

(a) Subject to the requirements in subsection (b) of this section, an assignment for Scientific Research and Design, Grades 9-12, is allowed with one of the following certificates.(1) Any vocational or career and technical education classroom teaching certificate with a bachelor's degree and 18 semester credit hours in any combination of sciences.(2) Any science certificate valid for the grade level of the assignment.(3) Legacy Master Science Teacher (Grades 8-12).(b) All teachers assigned to this course shall participate in Texas Education Agency-approved training prior to teaching this course effective with the 2019-2020 school year. Specific details about the required training can be found at tea.texas.gov/cte.
