SECTION/RULE §801.174 - Licensure and Jurisprudence Examinations

(a) The council will accept the national licensure examination administered by the Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards (AMFTRB) or the State of California marriage and family therapy licensure examination.(b) An applicant must apply to take the licensure examination per §801.74 of this title (relating to Application to Take Licensure Examination). The applicant must pay the examination fee to the appropriate party as dictated by the current examination contract or agreement.(c) The council, or its designee, will determine the times and places for licensing examinations and give reasonable public notice.(d) The council, or its designee, will notify the examinee of the results of the licensure examination in accordance with the current examination contract or agreement. If the council is notified of a potential delay of notification of exam results, the council will notify the examinee as soon as possible regarding the delay.(e) An applicant who fails the national licensure examination must comply with council rules, 22 Texas Administrative Code, §882.6 (relating to Limitation on Number of Examination Attempts).(f) All applicants must comply with council rules, 22 Texas Administrative Code, §882.5 (relating to Jurisprudence Examination Requirement).
