(a) Purpose. The purpose of this rule is to set forth minimum requirements relating to a dentist's provision of call coverage services for another dentist's established patients.(b) Scope. This rule applies to all dentists providing call coverage in Texas, regardless of the nature and scope of technology being used to provide care to patients through the call coverage relationship.(c) Dentists may provide dental services through a call coverage agreement (CCA) to established patients of another dentist. The CCA may be oral or written.(d) The covering dentist must provide to the patient's dentist of record who is a party to the CCA a report about the dental intervention or advice provided. The parties to the CCA can determine the timing and method in which the report is provided and who should receive the report.
