SECTION/RULE §161.72 - Board Regulation of Emergency Practice Authorization (EPA)

(a) The board shall have jurisdiction over healthcare professionals practicing under this subchapter.(b) Each healthcare professional must comply with all applicable provisions of the Texas Occupations Code and all other applicable state and federal laws.(c) The board's jurisdiction over the healthcare professional and the care provided in Texas during the emergency continues even after the healthcare professional ceases practicing in Texas.(d) An EPA is valid for no more than thirty (30) days unless otherwise indicated by the continued emergency or disaster, as determined by the board.(e) Healthcare professionals practicing under this subchapter shall not receive any compensation outside of their usual compensation for the provision of healthcare services during a disaster or emergency.
