SECTION/RULE §186.41 - Bone Densitometry Exemption

Bone densitometry using x-radiation may be performed by:(1) a practitioner;(2) a registered nurse or physician assistant;(3) a certificate holder; or(4) a certified densitometry technologist who meets the following:(A) in good standing with the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD);(B) has successfully completed the ARRT bone density exam; or(C) has at least 20 hours of documented training as follows:(i) 16 hours using bone densitometry equipment utilized x-radiation; and(ii) 4 hours of radiation safety and protection training.
