SECTION/RULE §13.31 - Purpose and Scope

(a) Purpose. The purpose of these sections is to implement the provisions in the Texas Occupations Code, §157.051(11)(F), by the establishment of program rules for the designation of practices serving medically underserved populations (Practice-MUPs).(b) Scope. The scope of these sections is to describe the criteria and procedures that the Department of State Health Services (department) will use in designating Practice-MUPs. The criteria will apply to practices not already qualified under the other definitions of eligible practices identified in the Texas Occupations Code, §157.051(11).(c) Administration. The department shall designate Practice-MUPs.
