SECTION/RULE §260.219 - Reporting Allegations of Abuse, Neglect, or Exploitation of an Individual

If a program provider, service provider, staff person, volunteer, or controlling person knows or suspects that an individual is being or has been abused, neglected, or exploited, the program provider must report or ensure that the person with knowledge or suspicion reports the allegation of abuse, neglect, or exploitation: (1) for an individual receiving licensed assisted living, in accordance with Chapter 553 of this title (relating to Licensing Standards for Assisted Living Facilities); or (2) for an individual who is not receiving licensed assisted living, to HHSC immediately, but not later than 24 hours, after having knowledge or suspicion by: (A) calling the HHSC Abuse Hotline toll-free telephone number, 1-800-458-9858; or (B) using the HHSC online Texas Unified Licensure Information Portal.
