(a) A parent who believes that information in records collected, maintained, or used under this section is inaccurate, misleading, or a violation of the privacy or other rights of the child, may request that the subrecipient amend the information. (b) The subrecipient decides whether to amend the information in accordance with the request no more than 30 days after the request is made.(c) If, after review of the request, the subrecipient decides the information is inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise in violation of the privacy or other rights of the child, it amends the record accordingly and informs the parent in writing. (d) If the subrecipient refuses to amend the information in accordance with the request, it informs the parent of the refusal, and advises the parent of the right to a hearing conducted in accordance with the requirements of FERPA.
