SECTION/RULE §350.811 - Qualifying Medical Diagnosis

(a) The interdisciplinary team must review medical documentation to determine eligibility for a child who has a qualifying medical diagnosis. The subrecipient must maintain documentation reviewed for this purpose in the child's record. (1) Qualifying medical diagnoses are approved by the HHSC Director of ECI based on prevailing medical opinion that the diagnoses have a high probability of resulting in developmental delay.(2) HHSC ECI maintains a searchable database of qualifying medical diagnoses that is made available to the public. HHSC ECI will notify subrecipients and the public when changes to the database are made.(b) If a review of the child's records indicates that the child has a qualifying medical diagnosis, the interdisciplinary team must determine and document a need for ECI services as required in §350.837 of this chapter (relating to Needs Assessment).
