SECTION/RULE §360.507 - Determination of Basic Specialized Telecommunications Equipment or Service

(a) In determining basic specialized telecommunications equipment or service available for voucher exchange, ODHHS applies the following criteria.(1) The equipment or service must be for the purpose of accessing the telephone network.(2) The primary function of the equipment or service must apply to telephone network access and not to daily living access, unless:(A) the equipment or service for daily living access enables a person to access the telephone network and is less expensive than equipment or service that functions primarily for telephone access, or(B) there is no other equipment or service available that enables telephone access.(3) A service must be less expensive than the basic specialized telecommunications equipment approved for a voucher under STAP and must be able to meet the same need.(b) ODHHS maintains a list of eligible specialized telecommunications equipment and services.
