SECTION/RULE §550.503 - Nursing Services

Chapter Review Date (a) A center must ensure nursing services are provided based on the needs of a minor, in accordance with a minor's plan of care and as ordered by a minor's prescribing physician.(b) A center's nursing director or designee must participate in pre-admission planning along with other appropriate nursing staff.(c) The center's nursing director is responsible for:(1) ensuring the implementation of the nursing care plan;(2) monitoring and documenting the care and treatment according to a minor's plan of care;(3) ensuring that nurses providing services at the center participate in interdisciplinary team meetings regarding a minor's progress towards goals;(4) ensuring the maintenance of a minor's medical record in accordance with the center's policies and procedures; and(5) ensuring a minor's parent is instructed on how to provide the necessary care and treatment in the home.
