The physician must:(1) review, revise, if necessary, and sign orders relating to the resident's total program of care, including medications and treatments, according to the visit schedule required by §19.1203(2) of this subchapter (relating to Frequency of Physician Visits);(2) write, sign, and date progress notes at each visit;(3) sign and date all orders, with the exception of influenza and pneumococcal vaccines, which may be administered per physician's standing order after an assessment for contraindications;(4) write, sign, and date a physician's discharge summary within 20 working days of being notified by the facility of the discharge, except as specified in §19.1912(e) of this chapter (relating to Additional Clinical Record Service Requirements), if the resident has been temporarily discharged for 30 days or less, and readmitted to the same facility; and(5) provide documentation in the clinical record as specified in §19.1911 and §19.1912 of this chapter (relating to Contents of the Clinical Record and Additional Clinical Record Service Requirements).
