SECTION/RULE §558.854 - Hospice Professional Management Responsibility

(a) A hospice that has a written contract with another agency, person, or organization to furnish services must retain administrative and financial management and oversight of staff and services for all contracted services to ensure the provision of quality care.(b) In addition to the requirements in §558.289 of this chapter (relating to Independent Contractors and Arranged Services), a hospice's written contracts must require that all services are:(1) authorized by the hospice;(2) furnished in a safe and effective manner by qualified personnel; and(3) delivered in accordance with a client's plan of care.
