The purpose of this chapter is to describe standards to ensure the proper care and treatment of prospective patients and patients in private psychiatric hospitals licensed under Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 577, and Chapter 510 of this title (relating to Private Psychiatric Hospitals and Crisis Stabilization Units), and in identifiable mental health services units in hospitals licensed under Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 241, and 25 TAC Chapter 133 (relating to Hospital Licensing).
