SECTION/RULE §745.469 - What are the requirements if my operation chooses to maintain and administer unassigned epinephrine auto-injectors?

If your operation maintains and administers unassigned epinephrine auto-injectors to use when a child in care has an emergency anaphylaxis reaction, you must:(1) Adopt and implement a written policy that complies with the unassigned epinephrine auto-injector requirements set by the Texas Department of State Health Services, as specified in 25 TAC Chapter 40, Subchapter C (relating to Epinephrine Auto-Injector Policies in Youth Facilities) and Texas Health and Safety Code §773.0145; and(2) Notify the child's parent, immediately after ensuring the safety of the child, if the child has had an emergency anaphylaxis reaction that required administration of an unassigned epinephrine auto-injector.
