(a) You must have a diaper-changing table or surface that is smooth, non-absorbent, and easy to clean.(b) You must not use areas that children come in close contact with during play or eating, such as dining tables, sofas, or floor play areas, for diaper changing.(c) If the diaper-changing table or surface is above the floor level, then at all times when the child is on the table/surface:(1) There must be a safety mechanism (such as raised sides) that is used;(2) The caregiver's hand must remain on the child; or(3) The caregiver must be facing the child and within an arm's length of the child.(d) You must have a hand-washing sink in the diaper-changing area.
