SECTION/RULE §748.1481 - To whom may I release a child?

(a) Except in an emergency, you must only release a child to the child's parent, a person designated by the parent, law enforcement authorities, or a person authorized by law to take possession of the child.(b) You must instruct all employees and service providers to follow your policies for:(1) Releasing a child;(2) Verifying the identity of a person authorized to pick up a child but whom the caregiver does not know;(3) Recording the identity of the person in a log or other designated location; and(4) Retaining the identifying information at the operation until the child returns.
