SECTION/RULE §748.2103 - What are the requirements for discontinued or expired medication?

(a) Discontinued medication, expired medication, and medication left at your operation must be inventoried and stored separately from current medications as directed by the administrator.(b) When you have an accumulation of this medication, you must destroy the medication in accordance with state and federal law and in a way that ensures children do not have access to it. The medication must be destroyed by:(1) A health-care professional or pharmacist; or(2) The licensed child-care administrator and another adult who is not a resident.
