SECTION/RULE §748.3475 - What special maintenance procedures must I follow for my playground?

(a) Your administrator or designee must inspect the playground weekly to ensure no hazards are present. Your administrator or designee must inspect the equipment and surfacing material for:(1) Normal wear and tear;(2) Broken or missing parts;(3) Debris or foreign objects;(4) Drainage problems; or(5) Other hazards, such as tripping hazards, like exposed concrete footings, tree stumps, and rocks.(b) Your administrator or designee must:(1) Ensure that hazards or defects identified during the inspection are removed or repaired promptly; and(2) Arrange for protection of the children or prohibit use of the equipment until the hazards or defects can be removed or repaired.
