Yes, you must ensure that a child receiving trafficking victim services is screened for alcohol and substance abuse within 72 hours of admission. The screening is not required if:(1) You have documentation of:(A) A child's alcohol and substance abuse screening that was conducted within the previous 12 months during the child's placement at a residential child-care operation regulated by DFPS or a facility operated by the Texas Juvenile Justice Department; or(B) A professional assessment that was conducted within the previous 12 months that determined whether alcohol and substance abuse services were needed for the child; and(2) There is no clear indication that the child has developed an alcohol or substance abuse dependency since the date of the previous screening or assessment.
