(a) For reasonable and necessary living expenses, you may provide cash payments to birth mothers to cover the cost of day-to-day routine purchases, such as food, household supplies, personal hygiene or grooming items, and gasoline or public transportation if your policies:(1) State when and for what purpose you can make cash payments to a birth mother;(2) Establish a maximum amount per category, per time period, based on the current rates in the community in which the care is provided; and(3) Require you to obtain documentation from a birth mother acknowledging receipt of the payments.(b) Each cash disbursement may cover a period of up to one month.
