(a) Each person must complete the annual training:(1) Within 12 months from when:(A) You hire the person as an employee, including employees hired or acting as a caregiver;(B) You verify the person as a foster parent; or(C) A caregiver in the home, that is not an employee or foster parent, begins providing care to a child; and(2) During each subsequent 12-month period after the anniversary date of hire, verification, or beginning the provision of care.(b) Alternatively, you have the option of prorating the person's annual training requirements from the date of hire or verification to the end of the calendar year or the end of the agency's fiscal year and then beginning a new 12-month period that coincides with the calendar or fiscal year.(c) Whether an agency uses subsection (a) or (b) of this section as your method for completing annual training requirements, you must use the method consistently throughout your agency.
