A child receiving treatment services for primary medical needs or intellectual disabilities should experience normalcy as much as possible and as appropriate for the child's special needs. This means that the child's foster parents must be routinely and personally involved with the child. This involvement must include:(1) Daily one-on-one interaction between the child and the foster parent primarily responsible for the child's care;(2) Participation in everyday family activities to the extent the child is able, such as having meals together, participating in family time, and participating in family outings;(3) Sensory stimulation for the child, such as the child being held, being read to, being played with, and being talked to, and the foster family watching television and listening to music together;(4) Actively participating in the child's medical care, including appointments and hospitalizations; and(5) Actively participating in the child's educational needs.
