(a) Texas Government Code §531.997 prohibits HHSC or DFPS from retaliating against an employee of either agency, as applicable, or any other person who in good faith makes a complaint to an ombudsman or against any person who cooperates with the ombudsman in an investigation. (b) As referenced in §87.19(c)(2) of this chapter (relating to Duties and Statewide Procedures), the ombudsman will collaborate with HHSC or DFPS to identify consequences for any retaliatory action related to a complaint filed with an ombudsman.
