(a) This subchapter applies to the Texas state hospitals listed under Texas Health and Safety Code Section 552.002, any facilities that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) operates as a state hospital, and any contracted state hospital beds funded by HHSC.(b) The entities listed under subsection (a) of this section must adhere to the procedures outlined in this subchapter and monitor compliance with the implementation of the essential caregiver designation.
