(a) This chapter shall not apply to medical examinations ordered pursuant to Texas Civil Statutes, Article 8309b, §10, and Article 8309d, §10.(b) Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to limit the rights of the parties to agree on treatment or an examination by a mutually agreed health care provider. The agreement must be in writing if either party intends to take advantage of the protections offered by this chapter.
