SECTION/RULE §331.14 - Prohibition of Disposal of Certain Wastes into Certain Geological Formations

(a) Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in this chapter, Chapter 335 of this title (relating to Industrial Solid Waste and Municipal Hazardous Waste), or any other chapter of this title, the storage, processing, or disposal of hazardous waste in a solution-mined salt dome cavern, bedded salt cavern, or a sulphur mine is prohibited.(b) Waste streams other than nonhazardous drinking water treatment residuals are prohibited from injection into a Class I salt cavern disposal well located in horizontally bedded or non-domal salt and its associated salt cavern.
